Midland ISD Bond Package #3 - Four Elementary Additions & Renovations

Cerris Builders served as construction manager for Midland ISD’s Bond Program #3, which consisted of:

  • New construction of a 500-seat Fine Arts Theater (15,500 SF) at Bowie Fine Arts Academy
  • New classroom additions and renovations at Washington Math & Science Institute and Pease Communications & Technology Academy
  • New fine arts classroom and stage additions at Washington and Pease Elementary Schools
  • Complete renovation of the historic Carver Center, including upgrades to the historic auditorium

The overall project size is 137,827 SF for all four campuses combined. The Bowie Fine Arts Academy is the centerpiece of Midland ISD’s elementary fine arts program and is shared by all of the district’s elementary schools for productions, plays recitals, and musicals. The facility boasts stage lighting, rigging, sound, and acoustics suitable for a wide variety of venues and productions and is used for multiple purposes including hosting Midland’s ISD board meetings. Each of the elementary schools received new classroom additions. Large openings were cut into existing gymnasium walls, allowing for a new fine arts classroom and stage additions to be built adjacent to the gymnasiums.
