After outgrowing its former Leawood location, the tenant, Tortoise Capital Advisors, reinvested in the community by building a new, three-story, 50,000-SF, class-A, office headquarters that better connects its 200 employees and allows for future growth. Tortoise’s new home is in Park Place East, a part of a larger mixed-use development that offers retail, dining, office, and residential opportunities.
Visitors to the building are welcomed by a nine-foot-long see-thru fire place that sits between the vestibule and the lobby. The interior building design also incorporates an open three-story monumental stair that serves as a focal point connecting gathering spaces on each floor and promoting interaction and socialization among co-workers.
The building’s exterior features a modern design with a two-story, glass-curtain wall with a gentle curve following the contours of the bordering street. The floor-to-ceiling glass delivers natural light and spectacular views.
