Austin Estimators Join ULI’s Young Leaders Program

Our employee owners are expanding their network and industry experience through involvement with the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Kip Maxwell and Sabrina Lozano, Estimators in our Austin office, have been accepted into the ULI Austin 2020 Mentorship Forum for Young Leaders. 

This program creates a unique setting for early-career professionals and students under the age of 35 by offering opportunities for the next generation of leaders to develop skills and build relationships that will help advance their careers and foster an understanding of thoughtful development practices. The Mentorship Forum is a 9-month professional development program for Young Leader members. The Forum focuses on:

  • Exploring ULI’s mission in a confidential, trusting environment of idea exchange;
  • Helping participants develop a broader understanding of all facets of the real estate environment;
  • Expanding members’ network with ULI peers and a senior-level mentor; and
  • Offering personal and professional development related to land use.

With over eighty applications received this year, the selection process was very competitive. Applications were carefully evaluated and scored using a diverse set of objective metrics, and Sabrina and Kip emerged as two of only 62 finalists who comprise an elite group of Young Leaders chosen to participate in this exclusive opportunity. The Mentorship Forum consists of small groups of 10 Young Leader members paired with a single industry leader who acts as a mentor. The small groups, which meet monthly, are carefully curated to ensure industry diversity, thereby enabling participants to learn about all facets of real estate development.
