Cerris Builders Breaks Ground on Two Fire Stations in Garland

We're excited to announce that Cerris Builders has officially broken ground on two new advanced fire stations in Garland, Texas. These projects are part of the city's larger $423.7 million bond package that voters approved in 2019. The new fire stations are being built to accommodate larger equipment and the projected staffing needs in the years to come.

Station 7, located at 1910 Pleasant Valley Road, will significantly upgrade its facilities. The new station, which is nearly three times larger than the current, 40-year-old facility, will feature four apparatus bays, a storm shelter, specialized decontamination rooms and spacious living quarters featuring 11 individual bedrooms. Station 7 is expected to be complete in Summer 2026.

Station 1 will move to 427 Allen Street and replace the existing Austin Street location when it opens in Fall 2026. The new two-story, 20,000-square-foot building will continue the long-standing legacy of Garland’s original fire department while enhancing the city’s modern firefighting capabilities.

“These stations are vital for ensuring effective emergency responses and giving firefighters the resources they need to keep Garland residents safe,” emphasized Charles Rombold, Cerris Builders' Division Manager in North Texas.
