Cerris Builders Celebrates Groundbreaking of Historic River Market Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri
Cerris Builders is serving as the construction manager for the redevelopment of a historic building in Kansas City’s River Market district, located at 415 Delaware Street. Originally built in 1880, the four-story structure will be transformed into a 45-key boutique hotel that blends modern aesthetics, preserved architectural character, and elements inspired by classic Italian design.
Owned by 415 Delaware, LLC and designed by BNIM and Populous, the River Market Hotel project reflects a shared commitment to revitalizing one of Kansas City’s most storied neighborhoods.
Our team celebrated the groundbreaking yesterday, marking an exciting milestone in this transformative redevelopment. The event brought together project partners, community members, and local leaders, featuring remarks from Mayor Quinton Lucas, Owner Mike Heitmann, and Senior Project Manager Matt Brooks, along with guided tours, networking, and refreshments.
The redevelopment scope includes new structural foundations, windows, roofing, interior finishes, and full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The hotel will feature a restaurant, coffee bar, garden courtyard, and fitness center—creating a welcoming destination for both travelers and the local community.
In partnership with 415 Delaware, LLC, BNIM, Populous, Silver Lake Bank, and community partners, Cerris Builders is helping shape a hotel experience that honors Kansas City’s renowned past while building towards the future of the River Market district.
