This 166,000-SF, structural steel facility features a band hall and choir room with sound-proof practice areas, classrooms/education areas, science labs, cafeteria, full-service kitchen, gymnasium, and athletic practice fields and tennis courts. The building’s structure consists of a slab on grade foundation, structural steel frame and structural masonry. The exterior finishes include a brick veneer, burnished block, and curtain wall glazing. The roof is mostly built-up with standing seam metal at the entrances and stair towers.
This new, 90,174-SF primary school included 78,000 SF of additions/renovations to an existing high school. The new primary school houses 3rd-5th grade students and includes 32 classrooms, two gymnasiums, a library, a cafeteria, and administrative offices. Additions and renovations to the existing high school include a new science wing, band hall, administrative space, and a 74-foot high performing arts center equipped to seat 900 guests.
Cerris Builders was also awarded the additions and renovations to FJ Young Elementary and administration building complete with a new, 11,000-SF gymnasium, a new 15,500-SF classroom addition, and approximately 87,500-SF of summertime renovation work. This project involved creative phasing of construction to allow the district use for the facilities without requiring use of portable classrooms.
