Cerris Builders worked with IDI Logistics on their new facility in Pflugerville, TX. The concurrent construction of these two buildings totaled 258,280 SF. Building 8 is 160,000 SF while Building 9 is 98,280 SF. Each will be constructed using concrete tilt-up walls, steel (red iron) interior columns with open web joist and deck. Roof systems will be TPO and each building will have its own independent ESFR suppression system with heat for freeze protection.
This project featured the installation of one of the first Ductilcrete finish slab systems in the Austin metro, a proprietary slab system that minimizes concrete cracking and provides better durability. Utilization of the Ductilcrete system allowed Cerris Builders to locate contraction joints at the column lines as opposed to typical joint spacing of 15 feet. Construction consisted of 40 dock doors, extension of the water and sewer lines, and new storm drainage piping. As the general contractor, Cerris Builders worked closely with Meinhardt & Associates, Bihner Chen Engineering, and Halff Associates on this project.
